The Perkins Visitor Center Coordinator welcomes Wave Hill Members and visitors and provides seasonal information and answers general visitor questions.

This position reports to the Manager of Visitor Experience.

Wave Hill is looking for a dynamic and hospitable professional to join our team as the Perkins Visitor Center Coordinator. This pivotal role offers a warm welcome to our members and guests while providing essential information about the season's offerings. As the Coordinator, you will process new memberships and renewals, playing a pivotal role in growing our community. Manage on-site ticket sales and program registrations with efficiency and care. You will manage the delicate task of processing ticket refunds when necessary. Reporting directly to the Manager of Visitor Experience, you will be instrumental in shaping the visitor journey, making every interaction count.

Responsibilities

  • Visitor Engagement: Having a thorough understanding of the daily programs and activities; ensuring visitors can be accurately informed about what is happening at Wave Hill, including the various events in the gardens and gallery spaces; updating the FAQ factsheet, which will help in providing information to visitors.
  • Membership: Process new memberships and renewals, contributing to community growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain a tidy Visitor Center and maintain and report attendance statistics. Ensure proper event/tour signage is in place, change exterior signage as directed, and train covering greeters on PVC desk protocols.
  • Volunteers: Assist the Manager of Visitor Experience with maintaining the volunteer database; work with various departments to schedule volunteers and Garden Guides for paid tours, special event tours, and weekly
  • Wave Hill House: provide reception coverage as needed.
  • Programs/Events: Process on-site tickets and registration using our CRM system, Altru. Manage incoming calls regarding program information, event ticketing, and online registrations.
  • Other Duties: Other tasks may be needed by the Visitor Services department.

Requirements

  • CMS Database Management: Experience with or familiarity with a database such as Altru, Razor's Edge, Tessitura, or similar. Wave Hill provides additional training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, and beginner-level Excel and PowerPoint).
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a nonprofit setting
  • Communications: Ability to present information concisely and effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Be outgoing, friendly, and have excellent customer service/hospitality skills.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

Schedule, Salary & Benefits

This is a full-time position working 35 hours a week, Wednesday through Sunday.

Annual Salary range is $36,000.

Salaries offered to candidates are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, skills, training and certifications, education, and other factors in addition to the scope of responsibilities of the specific position.
