Urban Pots: Spring Bulb Basin
This program has been canceled.
Autumn is when the groundwork for spring is laid—get a jumpstart on your spring garden by planting a container of bulbs. Gardener Gelene Scarborough will share favorite bulb combinations for containers and beyond and guide participants through the proper steps to plant their container and care for it over the next few months. During the winter, these containers will need to be stored outside and will bloom in spring. When fully planted, your basin will weigh approximately 20 pounds. Please plan ahead to get your project home safely.
Ages 10 and older welcome with an adult. Tickets required for all participants.
Registration required; online or by calling 718.549.3200 x251. Space is limited.

Gelene Scarborough
Gelene Scarborough has been a Wave Hill Gardener for years. For two years prior to joining Wave Hill as a full-time gardener, she was a Wave Hill intern. During her time at Wave Hill, she has cared passionately for nearly every area of the garden. Currently, she is focusing on the Flower Garden, Palm House and propagation greenhouse. When she isn’t caring for Wave Hill’s flowers, herbs, plants and shrubs, she finds joy in painting, an expression of her previous life before gardening.
