Connect with other nature lovers as Brooklyn-based birder Hannah Kirshenbaum from NYC Queer Birders leads this special birding walk in celebration of Pride month! Seek out birds in the sky overhead and discover those that make Wave Hill’s trees and gardens home.
Severe weather cancels. A limited number of binoculars, monoculars and walking sticks are available to borrow at the Perkins Visitor Center. Ages 10 and older welcome with an adult.

Walks follow a route along mixed-material pathways with varying elevations. A limited amount of walking sticks are available to borrow. Pace varies from a slow walk to moderate walk throughout.

Hannah Kirshenbaum is an avid birder and lifelong lover of the natural world. In 2020, they founded NYC Queer Birders as a way to cultivate community and explore the natural world of New York City with LGBTQA+ bird-lovers. Hannah leads educational bird walks and coordinates events with NYC Queer Birders all year round in all of the 5 boroughs. They love to welcome all bird enthusiasts, regardless of experience and encourage community building in an outdoor queer-friendly setting.
