Join Curator of Visual Arts Rachel Raphaela Gugelberger and exhibiting artists Jacq Groves and Grace Sachi Troxell in conversation about how their site-specific works explore lived and corporeal experience, the entanglement between organic and inorganic materials, and processes of transformation
“Meet the Artist” is an ongoing series of conversations between exhibiting artists and curatorial team members at Wave Hill. The program provides an opportunity for Wave Hill visitors, the artist’s community and others to learn more about an artist’s creative process and the themes that shape their work.

Glyndor Gallery is wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible, ground-level entrance at the front of the building with an elevator that provides access to the gallery level. The Sunroom Project Space can be accessed with an ADA-compliant ramp. The restroom on the gallery level is all-gender and ADA-compliant.

Jacq Groves
Jacq Groves
Jacq Groves is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Queens, NY, whose practice explores spatial and temporal experiences of the body and investigates ways we attempt to understand the unknown. Their work has been exhibited in New York venues, including Essex Flowers, Half Gallery, The Jewish Museum, The Wallach Art Gallery, ChaShaMa and the NARS Foundation. Groves earned a BA from Grinnell College and an MFA from Columbia University.

Grace Sachi Troxell
Grace Sachi Troxell
Grace Sachi Troxell works with casting, clay, textiles and organic materials to explore her Japanese, German and Irish heritage and reclaim the artistic traditions passed down to her despite encouraged social and cultural assimilation.
