Meet the Artist: Deep Pool
When
Where
Meet in Glyndor Gallery's Sunroom Project Space
Join New York Community Trust Van Lier Fellow Deep Pool and a Wave Hill curator, for a conversation about Deep Pool’s project in the Sun Porch. They discuss the way that Deep Pool’s work disrupts entrenched perceptions often associated with floral imagery and gender identity, exploring the open-ended possibilities of making meaning. Through photographs of flowering plants and architectural interventions, Deep Pool stages these clichés in unexpected ways to reframe the ways they can be interpreted.
“Meet the Artist” is an ongoing series of conversations between exhibiting artists and the curatorial team at Wave Hill. This program provides an opportunity for Wave Hill visitors, the artist’s community and others to learn more about an artist’s creative process and themes within their work.
Registration encouraged, online or by calling 718.549.3200 x251.
