Hives and Honey Headquarters
Chat with beekeepers Mufti Ahmed, Pam Golben and Junior Schouten. Peek inside an empty hive, check out live bees in an observation hive (weather permitting) and learn fascinating facts about honeybees. Bees, Butterflies and Blooms Weekend event.
This weekend is a premium-admission weekend, with a $2 surcharge per visitor; there is no admission charge for children under six.

Wave Hill House is located along a paved route with moderate changes in grade. The ground floor and lower level of Wave Hill House are wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible, ground-level entrance at the front of the building with a power-assist door. The restroom on the ground level is all-gender and ADA-compliant. Additional ADA-compliant restrooms are available on the lower level, which can be accessed by an elevator.

Mufti Ahmed
Mufti Ahmed is an urban beekeeper who maintains hives at the Brunswick Community Garden in Jersey City. There he spreads honeybee awareness to the local community. His interests include the sustainable impact of honeybees, pollination, education, research and honeybee conservation.

Pam Golben
Pam Golben
Pam Golben is a seasoned naturalist. Currently focusing on native plants, she owns and operates Golben Farms, a native-plant nursery in upstate New York. Pam is also a beekeeper and candlemaker, a NYS-licensed wildlife rehabilitator and environmental educator. In addition, she has a BS in Veterinary Science and Environmental Science-Organismal Biology, and was the Director of the Wildlife Center at The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in Cornwall, New York for 15 years.

Junior Schouten
Junior Schouten
Junior Schouten is an urban farmer and urban landscape specialist, beekeeper and the owner of Big Apple Edibles, Inc., a landscaping business specializing in food-producing designs and installations. With a background in environmental biology and over 15 years of experience working in horticulture and urban agriculture, Junior's aim is to bring hyper-local grown food and sustainable ornamental gardens to the yards and balconies of New York City.
