Cooking Demonstration: Going Nuts for Nuts
Nuts are an energy-rich food used by humans and wildlife alike. Walnuts, pine nuts and almonds are just a few examples of versatile tree nuts that can be used in savory and sweet dishes, and even nutritious drinks. Sample some tree-themed recipes, including bite-sized chicken nut puffs and a mixed-nut appetizer, then learn how to make homemade almond milk in this tasty demo with Chef Nick Acosta from Great Performances. Ages 10 and older welcome with an adult. Arbor Weekend event.

Wave Hill House is located along a paved route with moderate changes in grade. The ground floor and lower level of Wave Hill House are wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible, ground-level entrance at the front of the building with a power-assist door. The restroom on the ground level is all-gender and ADA-compliant. Additional ADA-compliant restrooms are available on the lower level, which can be accessed by an elevator.
Chef Nick Acosta is Venue Chef at The Café at Wave Hill. Great Performances operates The Café at Wave Hill and is Wave Hill’s exclusive caterer. The Café serves a menu of local ingredients from the Northeast, including seasonal items from its very own 60-acre Katchkie Farm in Kinderhook, NY.
