Buy TicketsIn conjunction with Fall Foliage weekend, pianist Sarah Cahill presents a program entitled The Woods So Wild, featuring a selection of sylvan themed music. Throughout music’s history, composers have celebrated nature and the great outdoors. As we urgently strive to preserve our precious environment, reflecting on nature through music heightens our attention to its great wonders. Beginning with William Byrd’s The Woods So Wild from 1590, Cahill takes listeners on a marathon journey through musical portraits of the natural world. Other featured pieces include Mamoru Fujieda’s Patterns of Plants, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Forest Scenes, and Erkki Melartin’s The Mysterious Forest, among others.
