The New York Council for the Humanities and Wave Hill join forces to offer a monthly reading and discussion series. Prof. Tara Weiss of Kingsborough Community College uses the work of science writers and novelists to explore the crisis and call us to responsible action. May 16, discuss Water Wars: Privatization, Pollution and Profit, by Vandana Shiva, exploring global problems of access to clean water and private purchase of this natural resource. Series concludes Sunday, June 13.
 
Free with admission to the grounds, but registration is required, at www.wavehill.org, by calling 718.549.3200 x305 or at the Perkins Visitor Center when you next visit. Copies of the books are provided, and will be available at the Perkins Visitor Center as of February 12.
